This training program is suitable for therapists who work currently are supervisors or are considering this as an extension of their skills. The aim of the course is to equip supervisors with the skills and theoretical background to work with a variety of supervision models in both public and private practice. Attention is also paid to the therapist and issues of vicarious trauma, transference and personal support processes. Jenny O’Neill RN MHN, Grad Dip Science is a Gestalt Therapist, Co-Director of the Illawarra Gestalt Centre and a College Member of Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ). She has a wide experience working as a counsellor, supervisor and psychotherapist, and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Drug and Alcohol field with expertise in Dual Diagnosis. She has supervised counsellors and therapists for many years both in the public health system and in the four year Graduate Diploma in Gestalt therapy. She teaches Clinical practice and ethihcs as part of the Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy. She is also a registered general and psychiatric nurse and a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses. |

This training program is both for people working as supervisors currently and those who wish to develop this as a skill. The course will integrate theory, skill and practice in supervision and outline major traditional models of supervision. There will be an additional focus of using a holographic model of supervision as developed at the Illawarra Gestalt Centre. |
